Past RI Director Finn O. Johannessen dies

Finn O. Johannessen, who served on the Rotary International Board of Directors in 1998-2000, died on 12 October.

Johannessen, of Trondheim, Norway, joined the Rotary Club of Charlottenlund in 1975. In addition to serving on the RI Board, he was governor of District 2280, an RI president's representative and information counselor, regional Rotary Foundation coordinator, and International Assembly group discussion leader. He also served as a Group Study Exchange team leader and was a member of several committees and task forces.

Johannessen retired in 1992 as manager of the oil company Norske Fina A/S. He also served as director of the Trondheim Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Oil Spill Contingency Commission and the local committee of the Norwegian Red Cross.

He is survived by his wife, Anne-Mari. Condolences may be sent to the family at Siriusvegen 10A, NO-7037 Trondheim, Norway.
